Having spent this week playing X-Men Origins: Wolverine and really enjoying it (bugs aside of course), it got me thinking about other movies that could have made bloody good games. Hell, some of them might even have been better than the movie that spawned them, as in the case of Wolverine!
Please note that I am not talking about the tech aspects of games such as engines etc, just concepts that I think would be cool games to experience. Also, this is going to be an ongoing series that I will be updating whenever inspiration strikes. (So given my shite track record at updating, don't hold your breath!)

Loved the graphic novel, love the concept of one man trying to survive in a infected city. Now the movie flat out sucked. it was boring, unimaginative and they changed the story too much to suit having Will Smith as the star.
I would love to see this as a massive 3rd person sandbox game set in Los Angeles (as the book is). The chance to explore the city and it's suburbs, enter stores to stock up on food, weapons etc and just try to survive. Yes there could be quests and objectives, but the game would be sandbox and would let you play the way you want.
Imagine being able to take abandoned cars to drive around the city, ones that would become useless unless you find a steady supply of fuel. The player would have to locate libraries and find books that would teach new skills and improve existing ones.
These skills could be used to upgrade weapons, repair vehicles and improve your home base. Don't like your initial base? Simply find another building more suited to your needs and claim it after clearing out any existing guests of course. The bigger and cooler the building would also draw more zombie attention and would need more maintaining, so you would have to weigh those options up while looking for a good pad.
I guess the game would be a cross between GTA 4 and Fallout 3, and given the success of those two franchises, that might not be a bad thing!
